Kimberly Palmer is a senior money editor at U.S. News and World Report and in this interview I asked her a few questions about her new book The Economy of You. I asked about her story of how she created her “side-gig”, an Etsy store, selling Money Planners.
According to Kimberly, having a side gig in today’s world has many advantages including: creating you own job security, additional side-income, developing additional/complementary skills which may be beneficial for your main job, as well as creating an online portfolio and a personal brand. Also, technology has made it really easy to create online businesses that anyone can do it.
Kimberly advocated that people should master the art of pitching themselves in order to get media exposure and gain leverage in business and life.
